Our day looked up. We didn't end up going to see my dad because he was having a football party with some friends. (Thank goodness he didn't want me to fix his computer anyway and let Alan watch football with him). So last week when i wasn't able to go because my friend's 9 year old daughter was in the hospital, his comment to me was, "i guess i just can't depend on you." Today, when it didn't fit into his schedule because he was having a party hours after we (hopefully) would have left, it was "Aw, don't worry about it; it's no big deal." i'll take that money and run, yo!
So Alan and i went to Hobby Lobby and got some art for our bathroom, and then went to see a movie. Thankfully Alan had bought tickets on Fandango before we left, because they sold out. We arrived a little late and had to sit in the second row, but it was so worth it. We went to see "Slumdog Millionaire", which is the fictionalized story of a young man from the slums of Mumbai, India, who wins the grand prize (20 million rupees) on India's version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". He is arrested for cheating, and while the police are questioning him, his answers are shown in flashbacks and give clues about how he knew each of the answer. It is stark, brutish, and beautiful, and i would highly recommend it.
