Hate the State

i hate the state! i hate the state!

So far, this is how our timeline goes. i forget a lot of the details of dates of communications, but you can use your imagination. Let's just say i've tried to follow up with our caseworker by phone and email quite a lot, all along being told "any day now":

March 2008: Decision to foster/adopt, initial contact made and application submitted

August 2008: Began PATH classes

September 2008: Graduation, home inspection, background checks, references, interviews

October 2008: Waiting. Caseworker told us our home study had been submitted.

November 2008: DCS shredded our class homework (resubmitted)

December 2008: Were told home study was submitted for approval, more waiting. Home study was ACTUALLY submitted.

And the latest snafu: After our homestudy made it through our caseworker and her supervisor, the supervisor's supervisor discovered that, of the two background checks required, only one had been requested. We're told it's a 7-10 day process and we'll be done.
